Toho Journal of Medicine is an open access journal distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/). Anyone may download, reuse, copy, reprint, distribute, or modify articles published in the journal for not-for-profit purposes if they cite the original authors and source properly. If anyone remix, transform, or build upon the material, the user must distribute their contributions under the same license. For for-profit or commercial use, a written permission by the Editorial Committee of the Journal is required.

By submitting a manuscript or other written material for publication in the Journal, the authors thereby agree to transfer all copyrights and other content ownership rights to the Medical Society of Toho University, which will then retain them in lieu of the author(s)

Revenue Sources

The Journal receives revenue from the following sources to cover the costs of journal production, web hosting, CMS, database, online repository, peer review, editing and online publication.

• Annual budget from the Medical Society of Toho University
• Submission and publication fees, as detailed below.
• Commercial advertising in journal issues, based on editor approval. See further information below.

Submission/Publication Fees

Submission Fees

All submissions to the Journal by the non-members of the Medical Society of Toho University must be accompanied by a submission fee of 10,000 Japanese yen. No submission fee is required, if the corresponding author of the submission is a member of the Society.

Publication Fees

Authors are charged post-acceptance publication fees which include, but not limited to, page/color-independent fees and copy-editing fees at the time of publication of your paper. Offprints can be ordered upon production of your manuscript.

The authors are required to submit clear figures. Additional fee may be incurred if figure-tracing becomes necessary.

Advertisement Policy

The Journal accepts advertising and sponsorship in the print version of the Journal, according to the following principles:

• All advertisements must clearly and prominently identify the advertiser by trademark or signature.
• Advertising must be factually accurate, and must not be misleading.
• Advertising is separate from editorial content. All advertising must be clearly identifiable as advertising and must not be confused with editorial content in format or appearance.
• Advertisement must not include content or expressions that may disturb the social order.
• Advertisement must not include the risk of defamation, infringement on privacy, damage to credit or obstruction.
• he advertisement must not use names, photographs, comments, trademarks, copyrighted works, etc. without permission from the subject.
• All advertisements are subject to approval of the Journal, which reserves the right to reject or cancel any ad that does not meet the advertising policy of the Society.
